In 1980, Brad Whitford left Aerosmith (and was replaced by Rick Dufay) to play wuth Derek St. Holmes, who had previously worked with Ted Nugent. They started a band called "Whitford / St. Holmes", completed with Dave Hewitt and Steve Peace. They recorded their first and only self-titled album in 1981. In 1983, Whitford joined Joe Perry to play several shows with the The Joe Perry Project. In 1984, they came back to Aerosmith to record "Done With Mirrors", released in 1985 by Geffen Records.
